Mineralogical Group
Kelly Ford and Amy Long co-chair the Mineral and Fossil Sub groups. Issues in Gem, Mineral, and Fossil Identification are discussed. The Mineralogy Subgroup meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM.
Feel free to bring gem and mineral samples you have questions about. Bring a sample you have identified and share how you identified it with the group.
Our March meeting will be about Flourite and Fred Mahaffey will present. We hope to have the UV lights up and running at the March meeting so that people can bring their samples.
In April, the minerals found last year at Graves Mountain, GA, which is where we have the field trip planned this spring, will be discussed. We are hoping Pete and Colleen will bring some of the specimens they found when they were there this past fall.
